Sandwich Subway has partnered with Sweden-based Visual Art in a major acquisition that will expand Visual Art’s footprint across the Eurozone, according to a press release.

The deal is the culmination of a selection process that began in 2020 and covers 23 European markets, bringing digital signage and content upgrades to 5,000 Subway stores across Europe, with its largest presence in England, Germany and France. Visual art will offer its Signage Player CMS software, which can turn existing TVs into media players without installing a second media player. The first phase of the rollout includes about 1,000 restaurants.

“Our digital signage software can provide them with that solution, and we can convert their 5,500 digital screens to our solution in two months without a single technician visiting the restaurant,” Pontus Meyer , CEO of Visual Art, said in the release. “We have already started operations in several countries and are strong in the Nordic countries, Germany and Spain. We will now expand to England, France and the Netherlands as a first step and enter other European countries with the aim of they are the largest and the best provider of digital displays in Europe.”
