Jamshedpur, October 31: The train journey between Tatanagar and Patna may soon become more convenient for passengers as the railway department is all set to convert the existing coaches into Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches designed for higher speed and equipped with better safety features, sources said.
Sources said the existing Indian Coach Factory (ICF) coaches for the Tata-Dhanbad Swanarekha Express would be converted into LHB coaches. Similar conversion will take place in Dhanbad-Patna-Dhanbad Damodar Express. The railway has decided to connect both trains. Several bogies of Swanarekha Express would be connected to Damodar Express on reaching Dhanbad from Tata and would be sent to Patna. Similarly, the coaches of Damodar Express would be sent to Tata on reaching Dhanbad under the name of Swanarekha Express, sources said.
Sources said Swarnarekha Express will run with 22 coaches with eight sleeper coaches, six third AC, two second AC and three general coaches.
